The best place in town to take a leak. - On a sign in front of a radiator repair shop.
"A pound is eight ounces, isn't it?" - One grocery store cashier to another. Neither of them nor their manager knew the correct answer. However, after I agreed with the woman who was trying not to pay more than the correct price on her item, they did at least check and get it right. (It was a case of matching prices from a competitor's ad. The ad listed the item in pounds, the item itself was marked in ounces.)
