10) Earth is estimated to be about 25000-30000 light years from the center. That's a long walk at "light speed."
9) The Great Attractor is thought to be somewhere around 200 million light-years from the Milky Way. It is no more pulling in the Milky Way than the Sun is pulling in the Earth. (The basic concepts of gravity and movement in space do seem to baffle some people.)
5) Relatively speaking, the Andromeda galaxy is at least headed vaguely in this direction. There is no evidence that the two galaxies will collide or that they won't. So the 12% chance mentioned is pretty much BS.
3) The Drake equation is pretty close to BS as well. As we say, the probable number of stellar systems with intelligent life in the galaxy (including the Solar system) is zero or some or maybe a lot.
2) Shoot, I was hoping for Bloody Marys!
Still they're fun to think about!
