I had a minor injury late last week, and have been taking it easy. Thankfully my biggest summer chore in the yard, picking up an abundance of prickly-pear fruit from the ground in the yard and on the sidewalk outside my wall every day since July, is over for the season. Have to pick it up or it will attract everything from rodents to javelinas, southern Arizona's answer to wild pigs.

I didn't mention last week that the grocery store has taken down the barriers at the entrance, and stopped counting people as they go in. They've removed the one way signs on the floor which no one but me seemed to pay any attention to, least of all the employees collecting items for curbside delivery. Everyone seems to be wearing masks, although I do see some people take their masks off quickly in the parking lot. I don't wear my mask in the car. But I do put it on before I step out. The temperatures are still getting into the 100s this week here, so wearing one outside in the afternoon is brutal, if necessary. Most people get everything done in the morning here for most of the year, virus or no virus.

It's cool enough early in the morning, I can open the windows a crack and turn on the ceiling fans. I can't open the windows wider because the cat would destroy the screens trying to climb up them in hopes of getting outside. A little fresh air in the house is better than none.
