Almost forgot to bring a mask the last time I went to the store. Like walking out of the house and forgetting the keys or my sunglasses. I knew something was off. But it took a second to think what it was.

Not much to say about the store, things are back to normal in that some shelves stand empty for a long time, seemingly because of bad business practice somewhere in corporate structure rather than real shortages. I've begun to see knots of employees gabbing in the corners with a faint show of working, again. Except there are more employees now than before the virus, so the knots are bigger. Don't be too surprised if there are big lay offs after Christmas.

I saw only the second MAGA cap in my area since the virus began. Trump was in town that day. Maybe the guy was going to the airport to see him. Can't help but have ill feelings against anyone who supports Trump at this stage. He certainly didn't look like a billionaire, and thus in my mind doesn't have a good reason for supporting him. Is the guy a bigot, and fear some Latino is going to steal his job? Does he value his guns more than his kids and grandkids? Does he just admire bullies and secretly wish for a favorable dictatorship? Is he afraid someone will insist his kids learn something about the real world? Is he just a born sucker?

It's hard to imagine anyone believes the bulk of Trump's BS. Politics is nasty enough that everyone has to sell out some of their values to vote for their personal, least objectionable candidate at some point in their lives. Just how much is this guy selling out?

Having been confident four years ago, I'm pretty nervous now. There is no chance in hell Trump will get more votes than Biden. But can he squeeze out another electoral college victory? Sometimes I think he wants to lose, but just can't bring himself to stop taking advantage of the suckers. One way or another he's bought his place in history as certainly the one of the least respected, least trusted and most destructive Presidents the country ever had.
