1. What did you do in 2020 that you'd never done before?

Did a couple Zooms with folks close to me. Wore a mask like in a kiddie cops and robbers game into various stores.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't make resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

No one close to me is the right age. But I know I gained at least one more great, great nephew. ( Read more... )

Week 42

An eventful week.

For Christmas I got a toy drone. You're supposed to fly it in the house, but I don't really have a space big enough inside to do that. My undergraduate university's football team had more CV-19 cases and had to cancel their bowl game. It's okay, I suspect they were going to lose anyway. My graduate university is still on for tomorrow night.

The handle on the toilet in my master bathroom broke(seemingly from 25 years of calcium deposits). At any rate I replaced the handle on that one and the one in the guest bathroom. They should last far beyond my stay here.

I got a scare the day after Christmas. I got a federal jury summons for early March. I fretted about it for a day (how to get down to the Federal court house, where to park, could I get vaccine before then, what crazy vengeful drug lords/ human smugglers would be tried in our Federal Courthouse in our county next to the Mexican border, etc.). But to my relief, unlike in County Court in Phoenix, I'm old enough for an automatic excuse. I just checked and I'm officially excused. If it wasn't for Covid I wouldn't mind going down there for a day to see the set up. But I don't want to be on any juries any more.
