4. Is rain forecast for your area this week?
As usual for early June, the chances of rain here are slim and none. By late June it will begin to be more likely.
5. Have you learned anything new in the past year (a new hobby/craft/language/fact)?
I learned it was possible to come down with Valley Fever twice. I'm still recovering slowly.
6. Can you swim? If so, what age were you when you had lessons?
I had lessons when I was around 9 and again the next year. Didn't learn very well. I had to take a swimming course in college and did much better, but I have not been swimming in many years so I don't think I'd trust my ability to swim these days.
7. Have you ever made pastry from scratch?
Yes, pie crust. But it's a lot less work to just buy pie crusts.
8. If you could share your life with any kind of animal (assume for a moment that the animal is tame and wouldn’t kill you, and you had the space and resources to care for it *g*), what kind of animal would be your dream companion (real or imaginary)?
When I was a kid I thought it would be great to ride to school on my own elephant.
9. Do you like wearing hats?
It's not a matter of liking it or not, I'm bald on top and walking out in sun here without a hat, is an open invitation for sunburn and much worse. I wear baseball caps to go shopping with a University of Arizona logo to keep down the number of stupid questions. When I lived in Phoenix I wore Arizona State caps. No point in telling folks here I went to school at and have degrees from universities much farther east or that I root for a baseball team from another state. Going for walks in the summer I wear a straw hat, in winter I wear a woolen western style hat.
10. Have you ever been to a horse race?
No, when I was a kid, my brother-in-law talked about taking me to the dog track here in Tucson, but we never actually went. Can't say I ever cared about it.
