This is a picture of one of my favorite barrels. It just happens to go well with that picture I posted yesterday. It's an early summer bloomer and it's about the size of a soccer ball, The long leaves on the ground are from the olive trees I mentioned yesterday. The thin curly brown things randomly among the reddish spines in this pic are seed pods from the blooming bush in the other!

Yes, despite my original slight misspelling this morning, it means something like Ferocious-Thistle Gates.
