No bloom yet, but this agave looks very much like it will be blooming soon
I was out cleaning up some of the fallen leaves from the wind storm we had last week and noticed the center of this agave looked strange as if it's starting to send up a bloom stalk at Christmas time. Like all agaves it will bloom once and then die. An odd choice of timing for the bloom stalk, but the plant has already reproduced by offsets, one of which I replanted a few feet away. You can see several more to the right of the base of the plant.
The plant (about two foot tall)

The center with leaves pushed out of place from the inside. If it does send up a stalk I'll post again, since it should be six to eight feet high.

Agave Desmettiana
