The bloom stalk on my agave developing

Stage1

It's difficult to tell from the size which picture is which. But the tip of the stalk shows this one is much more developed than the totally covered stalk above.
stage2

Today the stalk is well clear and the leaves that covered it are folded all the way back into the rosette. The stalk is currently about three foot tall growing about an inch a day. The books say it could reach 8-10 feet.
Stage3
Agave desmettiana

Also GIP:: My new default icon picture was also taken today. My little blue, Agave parry truncatta is getting pretty big. The stone to the lower right of the plant is about the size of a fist. The little one to the upper right will replace big one after it blooms.
