Mysteries of the Sorting Hat

We're not told everyone's old House in the Harry Potter books. Sort the following in the comments and give reasons if you feel it necessary.
(G)Gryffindor, (S)Slytherin, (R)Ravenclaw, (H)Hufflepuff or (K)Kwickspell (a.k.a. the second finest School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Britain)

1. Professor Binns
2. Glideroy Lockhart
3. Dolores Jane Umbridge
4. Nymphadora Tonks
5. Stan Shunpike
6. Vernon Dursley (assume he was expelled just for being himself, before shuffling off to Smeltings)

1. Binns - R - boring but smart.
2. Lockhart - H - prime example of a left over.
3. Umbridge - K - Why she hates everybody.
4. Tonks - R - She looked like someone smart when she was sorted.
5. Shunpike - G - You have to be brave to have a job on the Knight bus.
6. Dursley - S - A pure-blooded jerk. Where else would he go?

1. Binns - Totally a Ravenclaw
2. Lockhart - There's a prop from Chamber of Secrets film that puts him in Ravenclaw, but I think he's a Griffyndor. That is, a failed Griffyndor--in love with glory and the trappings of chivalry, but a coward at the core.
3. Umbridge - Hufflepuff, which explains her die-hard loyalty to Fudge. (Though some argue that her pure-blood bias makes her Slytherin.)
4. Tonks - Hufflepuff. She just seems to have that easy, (mostly) bubbly kind of personality that fits with Hufflepuff.
5. Shunpike - Sure, why not Griffyndor!
6. Dursley - Yeah, I agree he's a Slytherin.

Umbridge wanted to be in Slytherin, but they kept avoiding her...

Nymphadora was in Gryffindor before she got kicked out for too many violations...
