I saw a raven today. I know everyone else thinks of them as harbingers of gloom and doom, but I can't help thinking they are a funny bird. Rawk!

In my local produce store today, they had a good candidate for the official wine of ATPo. Oh yes, I know fresne knows more about wine than the rest of us put together. But that's good wine. This wine, enticingly called Herding Cats, is $3.30 a bottle. Your sense of humor will say, "yes, yes." Your taste buds and stomach will say, "no, no."

My cat was very eager to get me out of bed this morning. I couldn't figure out why. I had things to do, but he didn't. Anyway I came home from mailing cards and going to the store, and guess who's enjoying the covers. You know, usually he's willing to share.

Hee! That's awesome. :D

And I find this especially true for myself as I have absolutely ZERO skills in wine-purchasing and recently bought a bottle of chardonnay/merlot simply because it was a pretty pink colour. It tasted okay, but wow, it could have gone very badly.

I guess it's the copious two-buck chuck's I've bought, but somehow, inexpensive wine with a charming label doesn't scare me. Worth buying a bottle to see if it's any good.

I love the entire corvid family. They're such intelligent, audacious birds - they, of all birds, clearly know their great-grandparents were dinosaurs.

My especial favorite corvid is the elegant magpie. Good morning, sir!

We don't have any here, but the magpies in the west are such beautiful birds!
