Arizona State has announced it will wear its new all black uniforms for its game next Friday on national TV and has called for its fans to show up in black for a "Blackout." Um, doesn't anyone realize that, unlike ASU, their opponent actually has black as one of its official colors. Missouri is not likely to be impressed, plus asking fans to show up in black before the sun sets in 100 degree plus weather probably isn't the best idea ever. I don't care for Missouri's all white uniforms, but they are likely to give the Tigers at least a psychological edge next week. ASU, leave your black unis for November.

There was word yesterday that Texas and Oklahoma are now assessing their position in the Big XII. Translation - apparently Texas was trying to throw their weight around in the recent talks about whom to add in place of Texas A&M (assuming the SEC actually wants them) and enough of the others started telling Texas what they thought of them. Other than going independent, Texas has run themselves out of options. No other conference will admit them with their private network and going independent would exclude them from the BCS. Oklahoma does have a very real option, they could be the one to follow Texas A&M to the SEC. It would probably be enough to kill the Big XII conference. Ah well, I always wanted to cheer for a team in the Sun Belt North division. ;o)

ETA - Just checked a college football news site. Some reporter texted out that it will be a "scorcher in Columbia" today for the home opener (likely in the 90's by the end of the early game). Wait till next week and then tell me about scorchers. ;o)
