I mislaid my reading glasses yesterday and having broke my other pair months ago, I decided to get a new pair at the drug store this morning. I saw one package of three pairs that I thought about getting, but I liked a different kind better that cost more. I got up to the register and the cashier said "These are on sale, buy one get one free. Do you want another pair?" Sure! So now I've got two pair again, that I like.
Castle was really nice last night. It was a back-in-time, noir detective episode. You'd think such would be a little tired. A lot of shows have done it. But with Castle's usual good writing and acting, it was refreshing. Tamala Jones (the medical examiner) played the nightclub singer and sang very well. Molly Quinn (Alexis) got to play the mysterious, nefarious woman. We even got to see Chad Everett (Dr Joe Gannon in the old, old days of TV) as one of the guest stars.
I think I'm giving up on Ringer and Nikita. I want to see The River tonight. I won't miss seeing Ringer and expect the new show to be just as unintentionally funny in its own way. If The River is totally awful I might go back to Ringer or just forget Tuesday night. I'm a little sad about Nikita, but it's turning into another Alias and I didn't like that show. Usually I like shows with arcs, but Nikita is one of those that I think would have worked better with all independent episodes.
ETA: I've had my primary election ballot for several days now. As I've said before I get a Republican ballot in this state for the same reason I used to get a Democratic ballot back in Missouri: more choice. But even though there are 23 names on the Presidential primary ballot, I think I'll have to abstain this time. There are no provisions for voting "None of the above" or "You've got to be kidding."
