The name of the episode was "Chill in the Air." It might as well have been "Night of a Thousand Mistresses."

I think the episode wouldn't have been quite so lame if Catherine had not been behind Olivia's sudden arrival. But that was about all the depth to the story there was... Teenage neo-melodrama for sure, if I can say there is such a thing. This story line has to be fairly important, I understand, but it doesn't mean I care for so much of it in one episode.

I'm not sure where they are going with the "heretic" story. The story last night made clear that the correct term would be pagans not heretics. But as with the "axe called Scythe" you're never going to correct the confusion. Maybe the heretics are just going to be like the reavers on Firefly, convenient mysterious bad guys when you don't want to involve any of the known characters. I don't really think the show needs any more occult content than old Nostradamus. Otherwise you might as well just blend it into a two-hour Vampire Diaries and be done with it.

ETA Why didn't anyone tell Olivia that no one was using a French accent on Reign?

So what do you think the thing in the cave is?
a) Francis' evil twin brother.
b) Rob Ford in one of his drunken stupors.
c) The Master of Buffy fame stuck in yet another underground church.
d) A Neanderthaler as in The Thirteen Warrior/Eaters of the Dead.
e) Queen Catherine's "mistress."
f) Queen Mary's future husband, Lord Darnley.
g) A Playstation.
h) An evil brain from outer space.
i) A misunderstood polecat.
j) Liberace
k) An Elvis impersonator.

What kind of sad excuse for a French king would Francis make if he had only one mistress?

That's the big Feb sweeps crossover...
