As in "big deal, it's summer. " My air conditioner has been running steady for weeks and weeks and I was happy I didn't need it as soon as usual this year. It's up to 110 this week in Phoenix, usual weather for this time of year. At least in a couple of weeks our monsoon should start and we'll get rain once in awhlie.

I feel a little trapped in the house lately. I won't get to go to the big ATPo meet, and Cheryl has been very busy lately, so I haven't had seeing her to look forward to. I still get out every week, but what with saving money for a new car next year, my budget is a little pinched. I don't do a lot when I do get out. Sigh.

This morning, I finally got around to working on my new novel as I've been promising dub. About the beginning of the year I had a lot of enthusiasm for it. but I've hit a spot where I'm thinking "Is this any good?" And the answer in my head isn't very encouraging.

I was in your neck of the woods yesterday, and though it turned out I *did* have a bit of free time, I was exhausted from the nephew visit in Colorado. Maybe we can do lunch at Christmas again??

At Christmas time

I certainly hope so.

Since I know Cheryl's schedule has been tight, I would have felt a little guilty if she couldn't have been with us yesterday. Much better to get your rest and plan for a more leisurely visit when you come back in December.

Re: At Christmas time

Count me in for Christmas time.

CW, I've been putting off emailing you about our next get together because I'm afraid to say a date and then not be able to keep it. I was thinking this Sunday lunch, but then found out my brother is coming in Monday for the week (a surprise and I'm the only one who knows) so I'll need Sunday to get things done since next week is getting booked. Not only is my brother coming in, but my mom is retiring next Thursday so we're planning a little celebration. I'll be in Canada for a few days after the 4th, but how about the 17th?

Re: At Christmas time

The 17th will be fine. I'll e-mail you with some ideas of where to have lunch, the week before the 17th.

Yes, it sounded like you were going to say something more the last time we exchanged notes. So as I said to Masq I figured you were still very busy, and I didn't want to bug you about it and be a pest.
