Well, it's the middle of the night. The air in the house is sticky and unpleasant. If I was the least bit sleepy I'd be totally miserable. Fortunately I'm wide awake, and don't care when I get to sleep.
It's the beginning of the monsoon, here. First the temperatures go way up. It was 115 F on Tuesday and 114 yesterday. Then it gets very sticky inside even with the AC running full blast. It's a sign the winds have shifted, which is what 'monsoon' means. In a few days we'll have a big dust storm, certainly on the East side of town, but it might sweep all the way across to my side. Then, thank goodness, for the rest of the summer we'll have a chance of rain every few days. It almost never rains here in May and June and hot dry days all the time does get old.
