An electric bill for $0.00 (thanks to a return of a deposit)

Another utility bill telling me if I pay online I must set up a new account. I go online to find the directions to do that and it says if I pay them directly online or have e-billing I have to set up a new account, but it says nothing about if I pay through the bank online and don't have e-billing. (Clearly, folks without e-billing and mailing-in their payments don't need to do anything.) Sigh.

You may have already thought of this, but-- be sure this isn't a fake. I got an e-mail just last week from a manufacturer I deal with for parts (and have an 30-day open account with) warning that this has happened to them-- their dealers and service agencies received an e-mail informing them that the address for mailing payments has changed, and here's the new one.

Not true, said the company. They're trying to track down the perpetrators.

Perhaps call the utility, if you haven't already?

I received the bill by mail not email and at the correct time of the month. The bill talked about auto-payment and paying online. The website which I believe is the correct one talked about auto-payment and e-billing not paying online. I didn't change anything or enter any info on the website. I need to call them about another very minor matter on the bill, so I'll clear up both today. I checked to see the phone number was correct through different means this morning.

ETA: I called and neither matter needed action on my part. Never hurts to be sure though!
