1. Do you make daily to-do lists? If yes, do you usually successfully clear them?
No, I don't make lists much except for the grocery store.
2. What is your favorite piece of clothing? Do you have a different favorite for each season?
A Western style hat, but it's too warm to wear in the summer.
3. When did you last interview for a job? Did you get it?
It's been a long time. Yes, I've been mostly successful interviewing for jobs. I tended to apply for jobs I had specific skills for.
4. Teacher or student?
Not quite sure what's being asked. But I've been both.
5. What comes to mind when you think of fear?
Public speaking and heights. Teaching helped a lot with my fear of public speaking, but it didn't cure it.
6. What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday morning?
Since I retired, Saturday morning is like every other morning.
7. Where do you think your road is going?
In relaxing circles.
8. What was the last bad movie you watched right to the bitter end? Why did you keep watching?
I can't remember, but I do enjoy a really bad movie now and then. I'm not as likely to sit all the way through any movie or sporting event as I once was. I'd rather be doing something actively.
9. August 9 is "Book Lover's Day". What book are you loving right now? If you're not loving any book at the moment, what book have you previously loved?
I like a lot of books. I recently catalogued what I own and I have just short of 1700 that I like well enough to keep.
10. If your home was being redone on one of those house makeover/reno shows, what would you want to have done to your home?
My house could use some work, but makeovers are not my style.
11. If you were forced to take part in a reality/competition show (e.g. Big Brother, Survivor, Bake Off, etc.), but you could choose which show to be on, what would you pick?
Something I'd get kicked off of immediately.
12. What's the most illegal thing you've done?
Ran a stop light. I know, what a renegade!
13. If you had to tattoo your arm with a message to yourself, what would you write?
Please get this crap off your arm!
14. If you could earn the same pay no matter what job you did, would you pursue another profession? If so, what would you choose, and why?
Nope
15. Would you be happier with more control over what happens in your life or more control over your response to what happens?
More control over what happens.
16. If you were a role model to millions of children who closely followed you and your life choices, how would you change your behavior?
I'd stop smoking, quit spitting chewing tobacco, stop running with scissors, quit running around the swimming pool, not yell in church, stop pulling girls' pigtails... Wait, I don't do any of those things already. No wonder I'm a roll model for millions of children. Ha!
17. Do you squeeze the toothpaste tube or roll it? What’s the advantage of your method?
Alternately squeeze then roll. Best of both.
18. Using only one word per person, what was your first impression of each person present with you now?
Nonexistent?
19. What books on your shelf are begging to be read?
See above re: 1700 books on my shelves.
20. What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep, toss and turn, or get up and try to do something productive?
I get up and watch videos till I feel tired.
21. Which do you do more often: hum or whistle?
Hum - Whistling is more likely to bother the neighbors and the cat.
22. When you’re alone at home, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?
At the moment I don't have any decent slippers, otherwise any of the above.
23. Who’s the biggest “pack rat” you know?
Currently probably me. But I'm not as bad as my mother was. Back when I was living with her I had to take my trash to work with me so she would not pull half of it out of the bin to save it for herself!
24. What is your most unusual nighttime or morning ritual?
Well, for those who don't have tree-sized prickly pears in their yards, my summer routine of going out at 6:00 a.m. to pick the fruit up from the yard and off the sidewalk to keep from attracting critters is probably unusual.
25. How do you get rid of pesky phone calls from telemarketers/scam callers?
I don't answer the phone if the caller ID doesn't show someone/some phone number I know.
26. Have you ever square-danced or line-danced? When was the last time you did any sort of dancing (not counting when alone in your home!)?
Yes. We did square-dancing quite a lot when I was in grade school. I took a class in it, in lieu of a gym class in college. I danced to the current music one night at a party in grad school. That was about the end of my public dancing career.
27. When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time?
Most of the time when I'm awake I keep lights on. It's not that many and I use LEDs.
28. How frequently do you purchase lottery tickets?
Almost never. Buying lottery tickets is like buying a license to dream, but honestly I'd just as soon someone else win, most of the time.
29. Have you ever been an audience member for any television shows? Which ones? If you haven't, would you like to be? For which shows?
No. But I was in the audience for a Presidential speech (Gerald Ford) at a friend's graduation. And was plainly visible in the audience during a public hearing as it was reported on the late TV news.
30. When was the last time you sat on a park bench for more than ten minutes? Describe the occasion.
Couldn't tell you when, but it was when I was on vacation waiting for some museum to open perhaps in a national park.
31. When something is funny, do you usually laugh raucously, hiss, snort, chuckle quietly to yourself, or smile and nudge the person next to you?
Since I don't have to worry about bothering anyone I will snort or chuckle.
