16. Do you regularly eat breakfast? What’s your favorite thing to eat?
No. My mother always insisted on my eating breakfast. As soon as I was away at college, I started sleeping later and skipping breakfast. Of course, breakfast at the university dorm often consisted of cold pancakes, or cold French toast or cold fried mush with really vile syrup. Mass produced fried eggs didn't appeal either. I don't drink coffee, and I'm not a fan of orange juice (too sweet). I might go to breakfast once in a while when they had tomato juice or donuts. But that was rare. One term when I was at Ohio State, I was teaching a night class. I'd often come home, watch the late movie on TV and get up just in time to eat lunch. Didn't miss the third meal at all. I ate cereal every morning while I was working my job after I finished school. Might have pancakes or waffles on weekends. Don't need as many calories now. So I don't eat breakfast.
I do like fresh pancakes, especially with jelly and make them for dinner sometimes. I went out for breakfast buffet a couple weeks ago with friends. I had two helpings of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, with unbuttered, plain toast. So when I do eat breakfast it's not very exciting.
17. Do you add things to your ‘to-do’ list just so you can cross them out immediately to say you’ve done them?
I only make to-do lists when I'm planning to leave on a trip out of town. That doesn't happen very often any more.
18. Have you got a dedicated place to keep your shoes?
Yes - it's a special place in the bedroom, I call the floor. It's very annoying when I kick off my shoes somewhere else in the house, say under a random table, then can't find them the next morning!
19. Do you like scented candles?
Yes, My sister used to give me a scented candle every few Christmases. I had a mouse die in the broom closet in my house near Phoenix. I unwrapped a big smelly candle and it covered up the stink nicely, even without burning it. At Ohio State I frequently lit a scented candle near the window to fight the drafts in the winter. Made the room smell nice and kept things a little cozier. Haven't lived in such a drafty room since then, but still have good thoughts about scented candles.
