Mostly I'm not picky about colors unless I'm wearing them. Mostly, I like vivid winter colors, but if I tried to wear red I'd just disappear altogether and not because of the Buffy Invisible-Girl factor.

One of LH's questions caught my eye. 'What are your favorite team colors?' Well, until I was well along in school all of my school teams had black and gold, so I'm fond of that. But, when writing up my novel, back when, I'd get off on serious tangents. One of the characters went to a much different kind of school than the others, and although it made no difference in the book I made up an entire mythology about that school including team colors. At the time I wanted something different, that few real schools had. I came up with black and blue-green which were later converted into the colors of another organization in the book. I do like the color combination, but the appeal of a whole stadium chearing "Beat 'em, Black and Blue!" was too good to resist. Since then I believe there are real-world teams that have adopted the color scheme, but not the cheer!

True story. When I went to high school, all the team uniforms were some combination of blue (robin's egg or darker) and white. Our actual school colours? Black and navy blue.

Apparantly, the school administration had figured out that uniforms in the real colours would be impossible to read.

Black and navy? I wonder who picked that? I guess they would make decent colors for graduation robes. We used to have flags in the school colors flying at the games. Black and navy would look like you were all in mourning or all anarchists!

Re: LOL

It wasn't until we ordered jackets in the "real" school colours that anyone figured it out. And since we didn't have robes for graduation, or flags...it was just weird.

And we leaned more towards anarchy -- but then, most teenagers do! ;)
