I finally had to turn on the furnace this morning for the first time this fall. It's been chilly in the house in the morning, but I managed to tough it out till today. The furnace works fine, and didn't run long, but the humidity in the house dropped about 5% in a hour. Not good at all for my sinuses. So I'm in winter mode for the duration, hot chocolate or hot tea in the evening to keep up the humidity inside and keep the desert outside where it belongs.

Or as I'd put it, keep the desert outside & the dessert inside! Hot chocolate counts as dessert, right?

About the only dessert I allow myself any more. But, I'm baking a pie for Thanksgiving. Guess I'll have to have tea after it...
