The night before last it rained hard at my place. It's the season, but as I've said before here, just because it rains somewhere in Phoenix doesn't mean I get any. Yesterday morning, I saw a very rare sight for Phoenix, clouds hovering entirely below the mountain tops. I'm lucky that I live next to a park and could see it. I had to stand on a ladder to take the picture so my back wall would not show. The tree line is from the houses on the street on the far side of the park. I did some editing with Paint to remove most of the power lines from view. I don't normally notice them. But they show up prominently with telephoto

When my sister returned to town yesterday, I went over to work on her sprinklers. I managed to fix one that had a serious problem and wreck one that had a minor problem. So, I have to go back today and repair my unhandy work.

Re: Impressed!

I don't mess with things like wiring, but I have no problem with plumbing. This time I just over tighten something (with my hands!) and it split. Then I had trouble removing the broken pieces. Even these days the broken part only costs 16 cents. I can fix it. It will just take a little time.

Re: Impressed!

The fix-it gene has many variants. I'm pretty effortless with wiring, and have even rewired entire houses on rare occasion. On the other hand, even though I understand all the theory rather well and have a reasonable amount of practice, pipes and I do not get along, and leaks will almost invariably ensure.
