Heroes

I'm limping along in the writing department. I don't have a clear idea of what's next after the splashy finish of part I. I only have a clear idea of what one character is going to do for the rest of the book, and I haven't quite decided how she's going to get there. I might as well quit, but since there is a chance I could still hit 50,000 total (November + one week) I'll continue, but slowly.

Intense writing is not fun. At least for me it tends to eat up the time I would be exercising. So my sleep pattern gets thrown off and I'm very tired all the time. Since I've backed off on writing, and started cleaning house for Thanksgiving I've felt much better.

I was disappointed in the episode last night. It was all very anticlimactic, We knew as soon as we saw the painting what generally was going to happen at the high school. The business in India was a waste in that episode, exposition in an ep that should have been all breathless action. The one really good scene was the one where Claire returns to the front (?) of the building and discovers she's not the only one, who is special.

I think Heroes is teaching me something about writing. There is a point where too many 'central' characters do begin to detract from the story you are trying to tell. Clearly Heroes has exceeded the limit for a story that seems to have some direction. For other shows it's not a problem. ER for example seemed to get away with so many because the arc part of the story was trivial compared with the day to day things. Since I like books with lots of characters this does tell me something.
