Monsoon

Well, it's the middle of the night. The air in the house is sticky and unpleasant. If I was the least bit sleepy I'd be totally miserable. Fortunately I'm wide awake, and don't care when I get to sleep.

It's the beginning of the monsoon, here. First the temperatures go way up. It was 115 F on Tuesday and 114 yesterday. Then it gets very sticky inside even with the AC running full blast. It's a sign the winds have shifted, which is what 'monsoon' means. In a few days we'll have a big dust storm, certainly on the East side of town, but it might sweep all the way across to my side. Then, thank goodness, for the rest of the summer we'll have a chance of rain every few days. It almost never rains here in May and June and hot dry days all the time does get old.

So a range from 70 to 90 in June? Well, the lower end of that would be good, and the upper end would find me in the Lake, I guess, so it would work out either way.

Actually, it looks like it usually ranges from 37 at night to 70 as a high on average in June in Tahoe. 99 is the record, the highest it ever got, so we can expect it probably wouldn't get that hot.

Oops, 90 is the highest temp in June on record, 99 is for July

Oh, okay, so that would be rare. Isn't it weird that both the highest and lowest temps for June were both in 1988? That must have been a strange year.

I'd expect it would a bit on the "cool" side. When I heard people were pushing for Tahoe as a Gathering place, my first thought was, "pack a sweater!"

Yes, if you plan to walk outside in the morning at Tahoe a sweater would be definitely something to pack. You say, you have at least one of those, Masq? ;o)

Most places would have AC, I'd hope.

You might need a little warmth early in the morning, even inside.
