1. Have you ever been caught outdoors away from shelter during a thunderstorm?
In a downpour, yes. With nearby lightning, no.

2. Did you ever build furniture forts as a child?
Yes, my mother had an old spare sofa with matching armchairs. Their cushions made good forts

3. Do you use any medicines daily?
No.

4. When was the last time you used a disposable camera?
I can't remember having one, though perhaps I may have taken a picture with one for someone else.

5. When was the last time you flew on a plane?
Must be 20 years ago, not long after I moved to Arizona.

6. How many first cousins do you have?
I've lost track and I know at least a few have died, but at one time I had 40 living first cousins.

7. What’s the longest period of time you’ve gone without sleep?
Around 40 hours from my house to Europe. I woke up after some sleep in a hotel in Copenhagen with the sun on the horizon and I couldn't tell if it was dawn or dusk.

8. Did the house you grew up in have a big yard?
Ha! Not counting the woods, the yard we mowed was about 5 acres (about 2 hectares). I'd say it was a big yard.

9. What has been the most difficult class you’ve ever taken?
For me, it was probably the second half of my university analytic geometry class. That was mostly because my dyslexia made it next to impossible to work messy problems out, even though I had no problem setting them up to be solved. I escaped with a middling grade.

10. What’s something that’s much more difficult than a lot of people realize?
Running a business.

11. What are some things a house would need to have for you to purchase it?
Appropriate size, nice neighborhood, be close to shopping. Yes, I've bought houses.

12. Would you ever go out in public wearing pajamas?
Only if wearing something over them!

13. Have you ever had a lemonade stand?
The house I grew up in had maybe ten cars and no pedestrians pass all day. Not an ideal location for a lemonade stand!

14. Do you think you look older or younger than your real age?
I used to look younger. Now I think I look my age.

15. Where have you lived throughout your life?
Not far from St. Louis, central Missouri, central Ohio, Phoenix area, now Tucson.

16. Do you want any piercings?
No.

17. What’s your mouse pad look like?
I use a track ball, and don't need a mouse pad.

18. Have you ever been to a psychic/tarot reader?
I had a friend in grad school who could do a good tarot reading. He encouraged people to not take what he was saying too seriously.

19. How do you identify spiritually (do you follow a religion, what do you think about soul/spirit, etc.)?
I don't follow a religion.

20. Do you prefer your nails long or short?
Short, even for a man.

21. What are your favorite smells?
Chili cooking, peppermint, root beer

22. Do you still use a radio or just use your phone/computer for music?
I rarely listen to music except on my car radio.

23. What kind of socks do you prefer to wear?
Men's ;o) Mostly black ones.

24. Do you have any family heirlooms?
It depends on whether the next generation thinks they are heirlooms or not.

25. Are there any musicians you didn't like at first but grew on you?
Can't think of any.

26. Is there anything you used to love but now dislike?
Well, perhaps not love, but I used to like bologna sandwiches, and am not very fond of them now.

27. Your favorite place to be besides your home?
The bookstore or up in the mountains.

28. What is your favorite kind of tea?
Mint herbal tea.

29. Any old home remedies you use when you're sick?
I recommend the old remedy of staying in bed till you feel better!

30. What level of brightness do you usually keep your phone at?
I don't own a smart phone.
