Most barrel cacti are ball shaped and have yellow flowers. This one is a little different.

The flowers don't last very long. I'm glad to have caught them this year.

Good etymology! Barrel cacti used to all be classified echinocactus. But they've decided most were a little different from the original ones described, so they became Ferocacti, ferocious-thistles literally.

Hard cider is good! I hope David enjoyed his day.
